Another Year In The Books

The evolution of Hero. Schools across the country are adopting new approaches to student behavior. We evangelized a hypothesis: the best way to motivate students to exhibit great behavior is by recognizing the things they do right more than the things they do wrong. We build products that help schools do this on a daily basis. The impact to school climate and culture, attendance, and academic performance are noteworthy. At the end of every school year, our teams reconnoiter over data, conversations with our customers, and the outcomes we’ve helped drive. This year, we noticed new energy, compassion, and fidelity across our schools. Entire administrative teams, teaching staff, students and even parents are rallying together, creating learning environments based on positivity. Building schools that...

Goodbye to Hero Visitor

Here at Hero, we think a lot about the manual processes that exist at schools. You could say that we’re on a bit of a crusade: against 5 part forms, against carbon copies, against handwritten passes… and more. We talk to school leaders and school staff every day, and work with them to streamline processes like these, as a part of our mission to make educators more productive—and to make school a better place to work, learn, and grow. So in 2014, Hero created a free, cloud-based visitor management product for schools. Our goals were to help schools eliminate their log book, improve security by giving front desk staff access to watch lists, and introduce schools to the Hero way of managing paper processes—by...
